Mica Backgrounds

I have been playing with Mica powders.

I have used the large size texture stamps from Clarity Stamps and stamped with Versamark then rubbed over the mica powder, I found some flowers hanging around and stuck them on.

Make & Take Friday 23rd July

Flower Stem.
This image is from a set by Impression Obsession, the words in the background are also in the same set with all different flower names. The flower has been stamped and embossed in black and coloured and sponged around the edge.
I was trying a new technique on the background piece-- take a piece of white card and 2 different colours of dye based ink, I used Adirondack Lettuce and Sunshine, and sponge all over so there is no white showing, now use a medium grain sandpaper and scratch some back to the white card then rub on a third colour where you have sanded, I used Red Pepper, the colour soaks in more where you have sanded.
Now spray with water so it is speckled not puddled and immediately place a piece of kitchen towel on it to soak up the water, dry it off with a heat gun,  now sponge all around with Red Pepper.
Next I used Enchanted Gold Cosmic Shimmer mica powder and with a damp sponge dabbed it all around the edges over the red. You cant see it in the picture but the edge looks quite gold and shiny,

Make & Take Friday 11th September

The background has been made by spraying the card with Glacier Glimmer Mist. Once dry it has been stamped using Versamark then Cosmic shimmer mica powder brushed over so that it sticks to the Versamark, the butterflies were then stamped in Black Versafine and clear embossing powder, then coloured using the Cosmic Shimmer again mixed to a paste so you can paint with it.
I made several different versions of this card as I really like it.
