Make &Take Friday 16th December

Here is the card for this weeks Make & Take, a fancy tree from Kanban has been stamped and embosses on to a softly brushed background, a smaller version has been stamped with Versamark and embossed on to the background card, dots of  Liquid Pearls have been added to the centres of the flowery leaves.

This is the last Make & Take until 6th January.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

The sad news is that after much soul searching I have decided to close the shop,
I shall be doing all the Workshops, Make & Take days, Craft Club evening, Knit & Stitch evening as normal but in my workroom inside the Alpa Garden Centre.

and 4th Thursday of every month,
just £4 to have a play and
maybe make a couple of cards.

Make & Take Friday 11th Nov

This is our Christmas Angel for this week's Make & Take, in cream and gold.
I have taken normal gold embossing powder and added a little gold glitter to it for a little sparkle on the background words, I have coloured the angel with the Pearl-ex Palette colours so it looks nice and pearly.
Come along on Sunday if you would like to make this card.

Club night - 8th November

I have been playing with acetate and acrylic paints, so thought we might do this at club night tonight.
I took 2 pieces of card and placed drops of acrylic paint on to one of them, then smooshed the 2 card pieces together and dried ti off.
Stamped on to a piece of acetate then stuck double sided sticky sheet on the the back, added small pieces of gold leaf for the poinsettia and for the tree one I gently brushed on some mica powder on to the tree and then added the gold leaf and glitter.
They are then stuck on to the acrylic painted card.
You can't see the effect in the photo but they look really good in real life.

Make & Take Friday 28th October

This is the card we are making this weekend for our Make & Take.
The background is made by sticking masking tape on to a piece of card overlapping it each time, then rub over with shoe polish which picks up more at the edges of the tape.
Come along on Sunday if you would like to make this card.

Club night -Foil Technique card

Here is the card I made with the
green piece from the foil technique.
we played with the foil technique at club night on Thursday.

Make & Take Friday 28th October

For our Make & Take tomorrow and Sunday,
we shall be usingmasking tape and shoe polish.
I will upload a card that I make later.

Foil Technique

I have just been playing with a silver foil technique that I saw whilst browsing the web, using kitchen foil.
Take a 30cm x 30cm piece of foil and scrunch it into a ball, be careful as you need to undo it again.

Now flatten it out so it keeps all the creases, then roll over it with a brayer.

Now dab 2 or 3 colours of alcohol ink all over

Now dab a Vesamark ink pad all over(I found that the colour came on to my Versamark pad so I made my own using Glycerin on to a piece of "Cut n' Dry" pad, works just as well as a  Versamark pad)

Then cover with embossing powder and heat.

Here are 3 samples that I have made.
the first on the left has been embossed using clear ep the centre has been embossed with Kaleidoscope ep and the last one on the right is using a clear glitter ep, although the glitter doesn't show uo in the photo but they do look lovely.

Make & Take Friday 21st Oct

Using a brass rubbing effect with a wax candle on to the back of the folder then rub over with the Distress Stain and then wipe with a baby wipe, then heat with a heat gun this will dry it off and also makes the wax disappear into the card ready for stamping.
Come along on Sunday if you would like to try it.

Club Night 22nd September

This is the card that I have made from the technique that I showed at Club night.
Open an embossing folder and lay card on the risen side and rub with a clear or white candle, then rub over with Distress Stain then wipe over with a baby wipe, or you can brayer over, Big n Juicy pads are ideal.

Creative Stamping

The New Creative Stamping Magazine has just arrived, it includes a set of clear stamps.
£5.99
I treated myself to these sunflowers this morning from the farm shop at the end of the road, just 50p each.

Sunday 4 September 2011

2 variations for this weeks
Make & Take.
The windmill is the original, then I decided to make it again with a tree at the left side, but a drop of bleach was dropped on it which is on the left side so had to do something else, so I made the greeting to cover it then added another tree and fences and the man & boy.
The background is made with Distress re-inkers and Perfect Pearl mica powder in blue, placed on to a mat then smooshed the card in it.
Then stamped using Faded Jeans Distress and Denim Adirondack inks.

Come along today if you would like to make one of these cards or put your own ideas on to it.
