Make & Take Friday 23rd July

Flower Stem.
This image is from a set by Impression Obsession, the words in the background are also in the same set with all different flower names. The flower has been stamped and embossed in black and coloured and sponged around the edge.
I was trying a new technique on the background piece-- take a piece of white card and 2 different colours of dye based ink, I used Adirondack Lettuce and Sunshine, and sponge all over so there is no white showing, now use a medium grain sandpaper and scratch some back to the white card then rub on a third colour where you have sanded, I used Red Pepper, the colour soaks in more where you have sanded.
Now spray with water so it is speckled not puddled and immediately place a piece of kitchen towel on it to soak up the water, dry it off with a heat gun,  now sponge all around with Red Pepper.
Next I used Enchanted Gold Cosmic Shimmer mica powder and with a damp sponge dabbed it all around the edges over the red. You cant see it in the picture but the edge looks quite gold and shiny,

Flower Girl.
I used a Nellie Snellen cutting template behind the girl image and a Martha Stewart punch for the edge that is behind. I stamped some flowers on the inside bottom of the card and sponged all round.

Make & Take Friday 9th July

A gold embossed bunch of flowers. The background is peachy Bazzill that has been rubbed over with an ink pad then swirls have been stamped in the same colour.

Crepe paper flower instructions

Your wish is my command Dot - lol

Here are the instructions for the crepe paper flowers----

  1. Cut out 5 circles approx 1” in diameter.( do not use a punch as the crepe paper stretches and jams the punch)
With the grain going vertical(top to bottom) hold the top in one hand between finger and thumb and twist the bottom with your other finger and thumb.
Repeat with all 5 circles.
  1. Holding your petal in between finger and thumb from the bottom stretch the top pulling it forward at the same time.
Repeat with all 5 circles.

Place a small puddle of white glue on a messy mat and dip the very edge of the stretched section at the top into the glue then into your glitter so that there is glitter on the very edge around the top

Trim off the end of the twisted section so that there is just a little bit left. Reeat with all petals.Punch out a ½ “ circle out of white card
.Place a small puddle of glue on the centre of the circle and place your first petal on to it.

  1. Add another 4 petals overlapping about half way on the previous one so that you have 5 altogether, with the last one under lap it on the first one. As you place each petal press it down in the middle (I used the end of a chopstick A very handy tool to have)

Place a puddle of glue in the centre and add a gem then add a little glitter around it which will stick to any glue that is not covered.

Make & Take Friday 2nd July

Our card this week is a black and white one. I used a Cupcake stamp to stamp the pattern at the side using the top of the stamp to make the printed lacy edge then trimmed it following the pattern.
